Material Tenderness - glicée print
This piece was inspired by an ancient icon of the Madonna of Nicopea, seen inside Saint Marks Basilica on trips to Venice. I was inspired by the fabrics sourced from different cultures. I brought them together to create this representation of Mary.
The original artwork was accepted for the 2018 Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, Piccadilly, London.
